Energy in the North on cybersecurity, marine energy, internship and solar energy

The “Energy in the North” episodes on Wednesdays in September will feature 2026 Alaska Center for Energy and Power summer interns.
On Sept. 16, Caden Kelly will talk about a portable network training ground he is designing to
help teach and train people and communities in cyber security. On Sept. 23, Emma Kehoe will discuss her marine energy turbine project at the Tanana River Hydrokinetic
Test Site. On Sept. 30, Sigrid Miller will share the unconventional path she took from an Alaska Marine
Highway bed maker to a mechanical engineering student.
The first “Energy in the North” episode in October will be on solar energy. On Oct. 7, Adam Jensen, a scientist studying the performance modeling of solar photovoltaic
systems and solar trackers at the Technical University of Denmark will share his work
as well as his story on a wild backcountry adventure race he joined during his visit
to Alaska as a North2North fellow.
“Energy in the North” explores the importance and opportunities that energy and power
provide to Alaska and its people.
The radio series airs every Wednesday, broadcast on and , around 7:45 a.m., 8:45 a.m. and 5:45 p.m. Alaska time.
