Dear UAF community,
Twenty-five years ago today, our nation experienced the tragic events of Sept. 11,
2001 – a day that forever changed our country and touched countless lives.
As members of the ¹û½´ÊÓƵ community, we pause to remember those
who lost their lives, those who were injured, and the families, colleagues and communities
forever affected. We also extend our deep gratitude to the firefighters, law enforcement
officers, emergency personnel and other first responders who ran toward danger to
protect and serve others. Their courage, sacrifice and commitment continue to remind
us of the importance of service, compassion and community.
Today, we honor their memory and recognize the many first responders in our own communities
who continue this essential work every day.
