Research interests/biography
Chris is a Professor of Geoscience at the ¹û½´ÊÓƵ (UAF) and Director of the Arctic Coastal Geoscience Lab and Alaska Coastal Cooperative. He leads interdisciplinary research on coastal processes, hazards, and environmental change across Alaska using field research, environmental observing, geospatial analysis, and long-term monitoring. His work is grounded in sustained partnerships with rural coastal communities and emphasizes co-produced, actionable science that addresses local priorities while advancing understanding of rapidly changing Arctic and sub-Arctic coastal systems.
