Shannon’s exhibition, “Back Porch Sightings: Pottery from the Boreal Forest,” features
sculptural pots that are inspired by the small, often overlooked, wildlife that live
in backyards around Fairbanks. The exhibition includes sculptural pottery that commemorates
the lives of the squirrels, shrews, chickadees, and other tiny creatures of the boreal
                           forest.
In her artist talk, Shannon will discuss the local animals that inspire her work and
the historic vessels that she references. She will also detail her various construction
and firing processes in her animated sculptural pottery.
