Negatives (Seattle)
by Tyler Dunston
Soft rain all day and all night,
soft neon light. We forget our
raincoats in the restaurant, lose
track of the time, drifting through
soft neon light. We forget our
fears, believe you will be back
on track with time. Drifting through
garden ghosts, it all unravels:
fear, belief. You will be back
soon, gliding down an escalator.
In the garden, ghosts unravel
like good memories closing shop.
Soon, gliding down an escalator
a god will come better late than never
like good memories. Closing shop,
we glide through an empty city.
A god will come better late than never
with our lost raincoats from the restaurant
and glide over the empty city
and rain soft rain all day and night.
