My name is Elijah Bell and I am just starting my freshman year. I am studying two different degrees. Homeland security and Emergency management, as well as Fire science. I have participated in all campus activities and games. I strive to participate in things when I can. I have plenty of experience in leadership in my past. Last year I was on the AASG E board going to and helping lead the high school state student government conferences and I have been attending the conferences as a student my entire high school career. I am running to be a part of ASUAF because I strive to make change and further my development as a leader and learn from my upperclassman how to best support the student body. 

Nolan Morse, graduating 2030, is majoring in Secondary Education. He is participating in many student-run events on campus and playing on an intramural basketball team. He has worked as a manager for Planet Fitness and as a chief newspaper reporter. He would like to further involve himself into the inner workings of ASUAF and the university as a whole, as well as try to improve campus lifestyle as much as possible. His goal is the overall improvement of UAF.

My name is Preston Hammond. I’ve been living in Alaska since 2016 and I’m proud to say I’m a UAF student.  I’m a Sophomore majoring in Accounting with a minor in Business. My involvement with the campus in the community is that for years in high school I’d volunteer to help with food drives, community events, and school fundraisers. This gave me the opportunity to help make a difference where I lived, and throughout other parts of Alaska. I have recent leadership experience with being an Orientation Leader for the incoming freshman this last month, and have further leadership experience as I sat on my School Districts School Board as the Student Government president at my school. I’m running for ASUAF because I want to get involved and make a difference at my school. I hope to make positive changes to the University if I get elected to ASUAF.

I believe the fundamental responsibility of any representative is to not be known by the people they represent but rather alongside them. If elected to serve as an ASUAF Senator I pledge to be responsive to students and stakeholders alike. I might not have all the answers to every problem or issue on UAF’s campus but what I do have is nearly 7,500 students who I am willing to listen to in order to derive the best outcome for all students. Here is my promise: I will listen and I will act in all students' best interest because where there is will there is a Wade.

To start off my name is Alicia Torres, class of 2030 and my major is Biological Sciences with my concentration being in health and science for preprofessional! It is already an honor to be a part of the Nanooks and it would be an even greater honor to be a part of something so significant in making sure students' voices are not only heard but understood and taken seriously. The leadership experience I have is from being captain of my JV lacrosse team in high school, being company commander twice while in JROTC, and being a part of the chain of command as well at the same time! My reason for running for ASUAF is because I’ve always wanted to be a part of a community that plays such a big role in creating a supportive and inclusive environment. If chosen as a student representative what I would hope to accomplish would be establishing clear communications with my classmates, respect, and fairness. I want to create an environment that upholds the Nanook values, to bring strength into the community on campus, making sure everyone feels involved and supported . Although I’ve never had a part in any student government I would love to experience it at UAF and learn along the way!

Hello, my name is Charlie Andrews. I am a third year Homeland Security and Emergency Management student here at UAF. I like to hangout at the Esports Den, at the gym playing volleyball, or somewhere quiet with a good book. I have previously been an RA in the MBS dorms. I wasn’t really thinking about being a ASUAF till I talked with a past member of Student Government who thought I would be a good fit. I don’t think I will get everything right but I aim to listen to the student population and address the concerns they have regarding areas of improvement around UAF.

My name is Cameron Simoneaux, and I’m a Marine Biology major. Since coming to campus, I have made an effort to attend and participate in as many student events as possible because I genuinely enjoy meeting new people and being part of the campus community. I have spent many years in leadership roles through Girl Scouts, Marching and Concert Band, Theater, and Drama Club. These experiences have taught me the importance of communication, teamwork, and making sure everyone has a voice. I am running for ASUAF because I want to become more involved in student government and better understand what is happening on campus. Most importantly, I want to help students feel seen, heard, and valued, not just as students, but as people.

My name is Carson Lyons, I am a first year aerospace engineering student at UAF. I originate from the great state of Arkansas, my home town of Sheridan. I have ties in the UAF Climbing Club and the Alpine Club, I also work in the maker space on campus. More ties I have to my community include being an active church member back in my home state, and having helped manage / work on a farm for five years. I aim to make changes early into my college career and a yee haw for all of ya’ll, because sometimes you need a little southern draw from an outside opinion.
