For those who need a headshot photo, UAF’s photo day will be Sept. 11 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Wood Center multilevel lounge (indoor only). No appointments are required for this date; drop in and get your photo taken care of! If you are unavailable on Sept. 11, individual appointments can be made the first Thursday of each month during the fall semester, and the third Thursday monthly during the spring semester.

This is a no-cost service offered to enrolled students residing in the United States. UAF is making it more affordable and convenient for students to access their required course materials with the launch of the UAF Bookstore Bundle. Through this program, students will have the option to rent all required textbooks, lab manuals, access codes, digital materials and electronic books for a flat fee. Materials can be conveniently delivered by the first day of class. All eligible students are automatically enrolled upon registering for classes. The option to opt-out is available for students who prefer to purchase their course materials on their own.

Wrangell students install remote bear live stream
August 16, 2024
Wrangell-based T3 Alliance students installed a remote live-stream camera system at the Anan Wildlife Observatory in the Tongass National Forest, enabling viewers to see black and brown bears fishing for salmon. This project, supported by the U.S. Forest Service, involved high school students using skills from the T3 Alaska program. The system is powered by solar energy and uses Starlink for video feed. Explore.org hosts the stream, and the project is set for a five-year expansion plan. The live stream began on July 24.
