Project:

I will be researching the effects of cover cropping on cabbage root maggot (Delia radicum). As a part of my research project I will also be implementing predatory nematode applications as a potential biocontrol method for cabbage root maggot. At its core my research aims to improve recommendations being made to growers in regards to root maggot control methods in the state of Alaska and beyond. I am looking forward to learning more about the root maggot species complex present in different growing regions in Alaska, and being able to provide improved recommendations and up to date information regarding my research to growers dealing with cabbage root maggot infestations.
