The Kenai Peninsula District area includes 21 myriad communities with a total population of just over 60,000. The district serves communities from across Cook Inlet in Tyonek and throughout the peninsula, which is just south of Anchorage. Larger communities include Kenai, Soldotna, Homer and Seward.
Many of the communities are accessible by road, but others can only be reached by air or boat. Oil, tourism and fisheries drive the economy, and the Kenai Peninsula is also the fastest-growing agricultural region in Alaska, with the number of farms increasing at almost three times the rate of the rest of the state.
Outreach includes agriculture and horticulture; home, health and family development; integrated pest management; nutrition; and 4-H and youth development.

The Kenai Peninsula 4-H Ag Expo will be held at the Soldotna Sports Center Ice Arena, 538 Arena Avenue.
The expo includes livestock shows on Friday, July 24, junior market livestock auction on Saturday, July 25, and celebrity showmanship and petting zoo on Sunday, July 26. Community agriculture classes will be offered Friday, Saturday and Sunday and 4-H exhibits will be up all weekend.
Daily admission is $4, a weekend pass is $6. Children 5 and under get in free.

Field Days is an opportunity for the public to join UAF researchers for a day of learning at our experiment farms! Tour the fields and farms and learn through presentations, tours and discussions about varietal trials, small grains breeding, livestock nutrition, soil health and more!
Farmers, community leaders and the general public are invited to this free educational event at the Fairbanks Experiment Farm, located on the UAF Troth Yeddha&/ces/districts/kenai/39; Campus in Fairbanks. Each field day will include a schedule of talks presented by researchers. Please leave your dogs at home.
