At 10:20 a.m. on Oct. 20, 2022, hundreds of thousands of people will "Drop, Cover, and Hold On" in The Great Alaska ShakeOut, the state's largest earthquake drill ever! Participation can be as simple as a one-minute "Drop, Cover, and Hold On" training. All colleges and universities are encouraged to participate (or plan a more extensive exercise).

BLaST celebrates October Scientist of the Month

BLaST Scholar and UAF biology undergraduate student Tyler Baker-Chapman was selected as the October 2022 BLaST Scientist of the Month.

Summer 2019 and earlier UAF Blackboard course removal

UA Blackboard Learn is undergoing its periodic content storage management for all three universities. Academic courses from summer 2019 and earlier are slated for removal from UA Bb Learn on Oct. 28, 2022, and will no longer be accessible. This is routine maintenance for UA Bb Learn and does not interfere with UAF’s switch to Canvas LMS by summer 2024.

Responsible Conduct of Research training coming Nov. 1

Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) training will be offered Tuesday, Nov. 1, from 2-5 p.m. via Zoom by the Office of Research Integrity. It is an NIH requirement that all BLaST GMRAs, Scholars, UREs and other funded projects participate in RCR training. This is the only formal RCR training at UAF this semester.
