Michelle is from Fairbanks, Alaska and a proud graduate of UAF (Bachelor of English, 2003, Master of Education in Secondary Education, 2013) and UAS (Master of Educational Leadership, 2020 and Superintendent Certificate, 2024). Over the past twenty years she has taught career technical education (CTE), science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), language arts and history courses. She also enjoyed serving as a high school principal. She is deeply invested in promoting access in education for all students. She understands the need for career and college guidance for students as well as the importance of ongoing professional development for educators. Michelle is a first generation college graduate and attributes her own success to opportunities presented during her high school years. Her passion is connecting students with community partners to solve local problems, resulting in college readiness and workforce development for Alaska.

Originally from the Lower 48 and now living in Fairbanks, Jessica brings an understanding of both resilience and resourcefulness to her work. With experience supporting first generation and rural Alaska students she is passionate about helping young people see education, career and personal success as real and reachable goals. Jessica has been a first generation non traditional college student and uses her first hand experience to help high school students navigate post secondary pathways.

Jack was born and raised in Fairbanks. He is a graduate of UAF (BA Foreign Language and Literature, 2010 / BA Yugtun, 2019) as well as graduate of the Universiteit Utrecht (MS, Latijns-Amerikastudies).

He is excited to be a part of Upward Bound’s work of helping Alaskan students reach their academic and career goals after High School graduation.
